1. Do I need any previous experience?
No – it’s for everyone, with no prior HS knowledge required.
2. How long is the certificate valid?
No expiry. IOSH recommends refresher every 3‑5 years.
3. What is the assessment pass mark?
Multiple‑choice: 20/33 (60%); Hazard spotting: 10/16 (60%). Two attempts allowed.
4. Can I take the course online?
Yes – virtual classroom, or in‑person.
5. What is the duration of the training?
The training is one day with 8 hours session.
6. What is the difference between Working Safely and Managing Safely?
Working Safely is awareness for all staff. Managing Safely is for managers, supervisors, or safety practitioners (risk management, legal duties).
7. How do I find an approved provider?
Use the IOSH training provider directory on the official IOSH website.
8. How many days can I get the certificate?
The certificate will be prepared within 3 to 5 days from the date of release of the exam result. You will receive an email once the certificate is ready.
9. Can I take it as a group for my company?
