- Element 1: Why manage workplace HS (morals, money, legal frameworks, contractors)
- Element 2: HS management systems (ISO 45001, Plan-Do-Check-Act, policies)
- Element 3: Managing risk – people & processes (culture, human factors, risk assessment, change management, emergencies)
- Element 4: Monitoring & measuring (incident investigation, active/reactive monitoring, auditing, review)
Unit GIC2: Risk Assessment (Practical)
- Element 5: Physical & psychological health (noise, vibration, radiation, mental ill-health, violence)
- Element 6: Musculoskeletal health (WRULDs, manual handling, load-handling)
- Element 7: Chemical & biological agents (hazardous substances, exposure limits)
- Element 8: General workplace issues (height, confined spaces, lone working, vehicles)
- Element 9: Work equipment (machinery hazards, guards, hand tools)

No – the course starts from fundamentals. No formal prerequisites.

Resit only that unit. Unlimited resits within 5 years – you keep the highest mark.
3. How do I do the practical if I’m not employed?
Use any suitable workplace (friend’s business, voluntary organisation, etc.).
4. When will I get my certificate?
Within 40 working days of passing your final unit.
5. What study modes are available?
