NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence (HSL) qualification has 1 unit – and learners are required to complete all parts of the assessment to achieve a “Pass” mark to be awarded the qualification.
Element 1: The foundations of health and safety leadership
- 1.1 Reasons for health and safety leadership, organizational health and safety vision and business benefits of excellent health and safety leadership
- 1.2 The moral, legal and financial reasons for good health and safety leadership
- 1.3 Leadership team assurance
- 1.4 The influence of good health and safety leadership on health and safety culture (with reference to Element 2.1)
Element 2: Human failure and decision making
- 2.1 The influence of human failure on culture and the ‘Make it happen’ model of behavioural change
- 2.2 Decision making processes, mental short cuts, perception biases and habits
Element 3: Leadership
- 3.1 Leadership styles
- 3.2 Five leadership values and supporting foundations
- 3.3 Building relationships with the workforce
Entry Requirement
- No entry requirement for this qualification, however it is important to have a basic English language to understand the topics in each syllabus.
Course Delivery
- Live Virtual Training
- It is a real-time learning where Trainer and Learners meet LIVE online at the same time.
- Lessons are conducted LIVE by a qualified Trainer and it also allows Learners to clarify any doubts they have any during the live lesson.
- Live Virtual Training is not an e-Learning, not a webinar, and not a recorded training. Lessons are delivered same way as in traditional classroom training. You can just do the training even if you are at home, no need to travel to training venue.

Certification
- Delegates will be awarded an accredited NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence (HSL) successfully completing this qualification.

- 44 working days of the result declaration date. – No expiry
NEBOSH HSL Assessment
- Remotely proctored to ensure their integrity.
- You will be assessed on the HSE’s five leadership values throughout the course
- Assessment will be in the form of reflective statements undertaken throughout the course.
- Use ONLY laptop/desktop with functional camera and microphone during the exam.
Unit pass Standard
- Learner required to complete all parts of the assessment to achieve a “Pass”

What does the course cover?
The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Health and Safety Leadership Excellence has been designed to help you become a better advocate of health and safety in your business. The course content covers the following topics:
What health and safety leadership means,
The moral, legal and business reasons for good health and safety leadership,
The links between health and safety leadership and culture,
What the different leadership styles are,
How human failures can impact performance and culture,
The HSE’s model of effective health and safety leadership,
How leaders can build effective relationships with the workforce.
How is the qualification assessed?
The assessment will be in the form of reflective statements undertaken throughout the course. These show how the learner’s knowledge, skill and behaviours may have both positive and negative effects on health and safety performance in their organisation. Learners will also need to make a commitment to a leadership intervention that will improve health and safety management within their sphere of influence at work.
Entry Requirements There are no specific entry requirements but it is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.
NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

No exemptions are allowed for Unit HSL1.
